R&B계열의 Funk와 Disco를 접합시킨 Disco-Funk
그룹이며 대표적인 One Hit Wonder 가운데 하나인
Wild Cherry의 76년 데뷔앨범에 실린 'Play that Funky
Music'.  이 노래는 당시에도 인기 차트에서 엄청나게
사랑받았으며 30여년의 시간이 지난 지금도 수 많은
밴드들이 카피하고 있고, 라디오에서도 심심치 않게
들려오며 록 클럽이나 Bar에서 여전히 연주되고 있는
펑크의 대표적인 명곡이다.

경쾌한 키보드 인트로를 지나 감칠맛나는 혼 섹션,
기타 연주, 흥겨운 보컬이 잘 섞여드는 이 노래는
그야말로 지금 들어도 여전히 신나는 funky 음악의
'흥'을 잘 살리고 있는 곡. 이 앨범 이후 힛트작 없이
두 장의 앨범(1979)을 더 내고 활동을 중지했다.

내 주위의 모든게 착 가라앉아 있는것 같아
빠르게 결단을 내렸어요

옆으로 비끼며 소리쳤지
